Summer lovin’: How I celebrated Canada Day
Nothing says summer like the Canada Day holiday. Even though summer officially started over a week before July 1, this holiday signifies the start of every Canadian’s summer.
So how did you celebrate Canada’s 144th birthday?
I spent it with my family and there’s nowhere else I would have wanted to be. We started the day with a street party in downtown London. Face painting, live music, arts and crafts were all offered to help celebrate.
Then it was on to our Canada Day BBQ. What does family, cool summer drinks, a swimming pool, a trampoline, hotdogs, sausages and hamburgers all have in common? They were all necessities for our Canada Day party.
I was happy to incorporate Wonder+ SimplyFree into our celebration. I have confidence in this brand and feel great serving it to my family. It’s free of artificial flavours, colours and preservatives. They are also made with no high fructose corn syrup and unbleached wheat flour. This is important to creating a summer BBQ that is both fun and healthy.
I visited the Canadian Living, Summer Fun Comes Naturally site to find some BBQ inspiration. With recipes like Caesar Chicken Burgers and Pineapple Skewer Meatballs it wasn’t hard to come up with ideas.
Wonder+ SimplyFree continues to celebrate summer and you can join in on the fun. You can enter to win a BBQ party worth $5,000 through a unique PIN found on specially marked packages of WONDER+ SimplyFree hotdog and hamburger buns and you’ll save 75 cents on your next purchase.

The August long weekend isn’t far off. It’s not too early to start planning the perfect BBQ bash. You can check out this awesome article on the Canada Living site to learn the art of the barbeque and tips on making your BBQ experience a healthier one.
However you chose to celebrate, I hope that you had as much fun as we did this past Canada Day. Looking forward to the next long weekend.
Disclosure – I am participating in the WONDER+ SimplyFree program by Mom Central Canada on behalf of Weston Bakeries. I received a gift card, BBQ kit and free product coupons as a thank you for my participation. The opinions on this blog are my own.
