NORTHWEST LONDON CELEBRATES CANADA

When: Saturday June 30, 2012

Where: West Park Church

Time: 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm (Fireworks at 10pm)

What: A BBQ, games for the kids, classic car show for the adults and fireworks to celebrate Canada!

Cost: You will be able to buy food tickets and wristbands for food and some activities.  E.g., a “family pass” will get you 15 food tickets and two wristbands for only $15.

LONDON CELEBRATES CANADA

When: Sunday July 1, 2012

Where: Harris Park/Fork of the Thames

Time: 12:00 noon to 10:00 pm (Fireworks begin at 10pm)

What: Join Miss Canada, Jaclyn Miles as one of the MCs for the day to celebrate Canada’s birthday. Enjoy entertainment and fun with Fireworks at 10.

Cost: Free admission!

PORT STANLEY CAN FEST

When: June 30 & July 1, 2012 (Fireworks on July 1)

Where: Port Stanley Beach and surrounding area

Time: Various times. See June 30 schedule and July 1 schedule.

What: A two-day festival featuring live entertainment, face painting, treasure hunt, fish fry, strawberry social, garden party, boat parade, a free Laughter Yoga session and much more. The event finishes off with Fireworks on the beach at 10pm.

Kinder Surprise & Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted

Little S and I recently went to see Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted in theaters and I must say that if you haven’t seen yet, you HAVE to go see it! It’s entertaining for both the kids and the adults. Little S was glued to the screen and I really appreciated the adult humour throughout the film.

KINDER SURPRISE + MADAGASCAR 3

If you have heard yet, Kinder Surprise is being taken over by the cute characters from Madagascar 3. Check out Kinder Canada’s Facebook page to get a peek at Alex, Julien, Marty and the other characters from the movie inside the Kinder Surprise!

These special edition toys are on shelves now but hurry because word is that they are selling out quickly; stores are having trouble keeping them on the shelves!

As a #KinderMom I was lucky enough to receive some of these special edition treats. Little S has come to know the toys inside the Kinder Surprise very well, but she was delighted when she found the Madagascar 3 surprises inside. Of course it piqued her curiosity in the movie, so it seemed only fitting that we should go see the movie together.

As soon as we entered the theater, she began asking for her Kinder Surprise. Luckily Cineplex had a special edition kids pack featuring Marty and the other Madagascar 3 characters that of course included a Kinder Surprise.

It was interesting because on the way to the theatre Little S was asking me what my favourite part of a Kinder Surprise was. I must admit that it was hard for me to choose between the AMAZING combination of white and milk chocolate and the joy I see when Little S cracks open that yellow egg to reveal the prize inside. In the end, my selfish side won and I chose the chocolate. Chocolate wins every time!

It’s summer; thank goodness for the Lysol® No-Touch Hand Soap Dispenser

Lysol No-Touch Hand Soap Dispenser

Bathing and hand washing go into overdrive in our house during the warmer months. Kids just seem to be dirtier when it’s hot out…there’s more dirt, sweat, insects etc. It’s at this time of year that I am particularly thankful for the Lysol® No-Touch Hand Soap dispensers we have in our home.

Since putting the dispensers by our bathroom and kitchen sink, we have not had to argue with Little S about washing her hands…the exciting sensor and touch-less system are incentive enough and the novelty hasn’t worn off!

SSSSERIOUSLY UNSSSSSANITARY FUN!

It’s events like this past weekend that make me realize how grateful I am for the innovativeness of the Lysol products. Check out these photos…

 I have no idea what kinds of germs snakes carry, but I wasn’t about to find out…after all the petting fun, it was straight to the bathroom for a thorough wash. Thanks to the Lysol dispensers, hand washing has become a fun and welcomed activity. It has even become a habit! During our hand washing routine, we take the opportunity to share with Little S all the good reasons to wash our hands regularly.

TIP: Kids should wash their hands for at least 20 seconds for an efficient wash. In order to ensure Little S washes long enough, we implemented a fun activity to help her time it. Each time she washes, we sing the ABC’s (including the ‘now I know my ABC’s…part) from start to finish. When the song is over, she knows she can rinse.
