This week on City Mom’s Urban Exposure: Kangoo Club London and a giveaway for 3 Kangoo Jumps classes. Kangoo Club London is owned, distributed and instructed by Paula Martin at Gold’s Gym in London. The good news is that you don’t need to be a gym member to participate in the Kangoo classes.


Kangoo Jumps have been popular in Europe and South America for the past ten years but they have just started to surface in the last 2 years here in North America and guess what London? We’re fortunate to have a full class schedule here in London.

Kangoo is considered to be a rebound exercise and it’s said to be the most effective and efficient form of exercise yet devised by man. Kangoo Jumps (the name of the boots worn) give you a high intensity cardio workout, burning 25% more calories than running on a treadmill all while absorbing 80% of the impact to your joints.  They are great for people who have had knee problems, back injuries and other joint issues because they allow you to still do the exercise without the jarring effect onto your problem areas.  They also allow injured athletes to begin training again 2 weeks sooner than they could on regular running shoes.

Classes run at Gold’s Gym on Wellington Road South, but as mentioned, you don’t need to be a member of Gold’s to participate in the classes. There are six different class times for you to choose from so there’s sure to be one that fits your schedule:

  • Monday – 10:00 am, 7:30pm
  • Wednesday – 7:30 pm
  • Thursday – 7:30 pm
  • Saturday – 10:30 am
  • Sunday – 7:30 pm

There are two kinds of Kangoo classes:

Kangoo Power Class: (as seen on City Mom) A high intensity cardio workout, and

Kangoo Boot Camp: Focuses more on strength training, plyometrics and circuit training.

Students can rent the boots each class or they can choose to purchase their own pair which are sold at Kangoo Club London.


The Kangoo High is a term used to describe the feeling you get after participating in a Kangoo class. I can attest to this feeling. It’s a super high impact class that really gets your heart pumping but because it’s so much fun, you kind of forget you’re exercising.  This exercise also releases many endorphins into your system you leave feeling giddy, accomplished and like you’ve just done something really good for your body!
