Urban Exposure: Artventure
This week’s Urban Exposure feature is Artventure. If you have a budding artist on your hands, you’ll love this week’s feature.
The name of Artventure says it all; adventure in art! Run by a mother-daughter team, Ayala and Erica Reshef, Artventure is a multimedia art school for children and adults alike. From finger painting to modeling clay to watercolours, there are endless choices of mediums to discover.
The art classes are divided into specific age groups and the curriculum is created in an age appropriate manner. Classes range from JK to adult.
JK – GRADE 12 CLASSES
JK (4 & 5 years of age) classes allow children to explore using finger paints, crayons, tempera, markers and modeling clay. More senior students will be allowed to discover their own personal style by learning techniques with conté, charcoal, pencil crayons and more.
And it’s not all about the kids. Adults can flourish and learn at Artventure too. Have you always wanted to explore your artistic side? Did you use to enjoy painting, drawing etc. but have set it aside due to a busy schedule? Well, here’s a perfect excuse to get started.
Adult classes include drawing, painting and sculpture. It is said that challenging your brain with new activities such as art can help to keep your brain sharp and potentially ward off diseases such as Alzheimer’s, dementia etc. So to me, carving out two hours a week to explore your creative side sounds just as important as our daily exercise routine.
Artventure also hosts birthday parties and summer camps which rounds this facility out to be a very family friendly experience.
