2012Holiday Gift Giving Made Easy: Rubbermaid Bathroom Cleaning Tools
The holiday season means parties and parties mean having guests over and when you have guests over you can’t have dirty bathrooms! So essentially the holiday season means cleaning your bathroom and not just any old clean; a white glove standard clean.
Now you’re all stressed out right? Well don’t be because I have a really good solution for you and that is the Rubbermaid Bathroom Cleaning Tools.
For me the opportunity to test all the Rubbermaid Bathroom Cleaning Tools came at the perfect time! In an effort to cut costs, we recently cancelled our bi-weekly house cleaning, which means we are now in charge of cleaning ourselves.
Now I don’t at all intend to say that our cleaner didn’t do a good job, she just didn’t have the right tools and over time our shower started to grow different colours of mould and mildew in the corners and in the tile grout. Because we weren’t in the habit of cleaning and didn’t even own cleaning tools we kind of just avoided it.
Well, the other night I cleaned the bathroom and not only does it look clean, it looks sparkling-clean and it’s in large part thanks to the Rubbermaid Bathroom Cleaning Tools. In fact, my husband had decided we needed to re-grout in order to fix the issue. He was super impressed and has even put his putty knife away!
So enough about me…let’s look at each tool and how it’s used:
- Extendable Scrubber
- Combines extended reach capability for hard to reach areas with a detachable head for close-up jobs requiring more leverage
- Quick disconnect for seamless detachment and reattachment of head
- Pole extends from 24 – 40 inches for ease of use and comfort
- Works with switchable pads for surface and job versatility
- Available at Wal-Mart and Home Hardware stores
- Suggest Retail Price (SRP) $ 14.99
- (2 & 3) Handheld 2-in-1 Scrubber
- All-purpose scrub brush with an embedded detail brush
- Detail brush is great for cleaning small areas and tight crevasses such as faucets, grout and shower door tracks
- Works with switchable pads for surface and job versatility
- Available at The Home Depot
- SRP $ 9.99
- Flexible Scrub Brush (perhaps my favourite)
- All purpose scrub brush that flexes to reach hard-to-access areas, such as the curves and contours of sink
- Locks into “flat” position for open space cleaning
- Rubberized inset for great grip
- 3-inch flexible tip and bristles are bendable, yet firm for optimal scrubbing
- Available at The Home Depot, Wal-Mart and Home Hardware stores
- SRP $ 9.99
- Spraying Scrubber
- Integrated tank and sprayer allows consumers to spray and scrub at once
- Tank holds 4 ounces of cleaning product, cleaning most bathrooms two times
- Works with switchable pads for surface and job versatility
- Available at The Home Depot
- SRP $12.99
- Switchable Bristle Brush Pad
- Each pad (there are four types) fits three different Rubbermaid scrubbers
- For most common cleaning needs
- Scouring Pad: Perfect for all-surface scrubbing
- Sponge: The all-surface cleaning/wiping pad
- Bristle Brush: Great for heavy-duty scrubbing
- Disposable Pad: Sold in packs of six and a must-have for messy, “clean and toss” jobs
- Available at The Home Depot and Home Hardware
- SRP $4.99
MY FAVOURITE FEATURES
I loved using the Extendable scrubber because we have a floor to ceiling glass wall in our shower and I just can reach up nine feet. This tool allowed me to scrub right to the top. That’s something no one has done since we moved in here three years ago. Yikes!
I also loved the way the different pads attached to the tools. They attach with a super strong Velcro-type adhesive so there was no fidgeting with clasps etc. to switch the scrubbers.
I filled the Spraying Scrubber with water and used it to scrub away toothpaste and dust on the counter top. And speaking of water, it took nothing more than some vinegar and water to get my shower clean. That speaks volumes about the power of these tools. And it’s healthier for my family than harsh bleach and chemical filled cleaners. And might as well throw ‘better for the environment’ in there too!
