Swim by & check out our Turtle’s Tale 2 party!
Have you ever thrown a themed movie party for your children? If you have then you know how much fun they are and if you haven’t, you’ll want to read on for some party planning ideas.
I was really enthused to participate in this Mom Central campaign that challenged us to throw a Turtle’s Tale 2 preview party. In my house we’re big fans of “movie night” and we love parties…enough said! We are also fortunate to have a theatre room in our condo’s common area so I knew we were the perfect candidates to host a party like this.
TURTLE’S TALE 2
Turtle’s Tale 2 – Sammy Escapes From Paradise was released on DVD today (July 9, 2013). This cute family friendly movie is geared towards children aged 3 to 10 but as with most animated films, it’s entertaining for the adults too.
When Sammy & Ray find themselves trapped in The Tank, an underwater restaurant/aquarium, they must hatch a plan to escape and reunite with their grand kids Ricky & Ella. But they’ll have to get past Big D and his dopey thugs first. With the help of some unlikely friends, Sammy & Ray find that when you work together anything is possible!
Our Turtle’s Tale 2 preview party included six of Little S’ friends from the ages of four to six. We chose to serve food and drinks that fell under the underwater theme to make Sammy feel right at home with his guests!
From apricot goldfish to “sea water” to turtle cupcakes everything came from the sea, just like Sammy, Ray and their grand kids Ella and Ricky.
It was such a fun theme to work with and easy to find lots of inspiration on the web and Pinterest.
THE CRITICS SAID
At the end of the movie I polled the critics and Turtles Tale 2 received seven hands up when asked who liked the movie; on the CityMomMeter that’s 100%!
The favourite characters among the group included Ella, Ricky and Sammy and the boys liked the “bad guy” Big D the most.
The boys, who are six years old, seemed to be the most interested in the movie while the girls (ages four to five) seemed to watch intermittently. Perhaps that could have been because of the sugar-high (see cupcake photo) or it could have also been because there were no fairy princesses in the film.
Overall everyone seemed to really enjoy the entire experience from the Turtle’s Tale themed treats to the large screen and theatre seats to the entire movie. We highly recommend this film for your next movie party or family movie night!
