It’s our second last long weekend of the summer so it’s a must that we celebrate in style! The weather hasn’t really been cooperating (at least here in London) lately but here’s to a gorgeous summer long-weekend, no matter how you choose to enjoy it!

RIBFEST

  • When: August 1 to 5, 2013
  • Time: 11:00 am to 11:00 pm (each day)
  • Where: Victoria Park, London
  • What: Ribs, ribs and more ribs…you be the judge on who serves the best ribs. There will also be carnival rides, 75 bands and 250 exhibitors.
  • Cost: Free entry, cost for rides per ticket, or $20 All Day Ride Bracelet (parents ride free)

STORYBOOK GARDENS

  • When: August 2, 3 & 5, 2013
  • Time: Various times (see more info)
  • Where: Storybook Gardens, London
  • What: Storytelling with Dian Halpin, meet Iron Man and dress as your favourite Marvel character and hang out with Ventriloquist Tim Holland a.k.a The Puppet Tamer
  • Cost: Regular Storybook Gardens admission

EXPRESSIONS IN CHALK

  • When: August 3 – 5, 2013
  • Time: Artists will be working all day Saturday and Sunday.
  • Where: Victoria Park
  • What: A street painting festival featuring works of art created in chalk pastels on asphalt
  • Cost: Free

EAST PARK

  • When: Open all weekend long!
  • Time: Regular hours Saturday, Sunday & Monday, FREE FM Cruiser on location from 12pm-2pm
  • Where: East Park
  • What: Water park, mini golf, go-karts and more.
  • Cost: Various prices based on activity

LONDON LICIOUS

  • When: July 19 – August 11, 2013
  • Time: Various restaurant hours
  • Where: Various locations
  • What: It is the only festival in London that invites you to live it up in one of your favourite restaurants—and try new ones! With over 35 restaurants participating, each with its own unique, delicious fixed-menu options to offer, you won’t leave unsatisfied!

FANSHAWE FROLIC PRESENTS…

  • When: August 3 & 4, 2013
  • Time: Various times (see more info)
  • Where: Fanshawe Pioneer Village
  • What: This year’s special Frolic theme focuses on the British Empire in the 19th century and the reign of Queen Victoria. Our 19th century ball program will include dances and music from the years of Queen Victoria’s lifetime; from the late regency period to 1901.
  • Cost: $50 + HST per person for the ball and dinner
