  • Where: Harris Park/Fork of the Thames
  • Time: 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm (Fireworks begin at 10 pm)
  • What: Festivities include First Nations gathering, Citizenship Ceremony, Canada’s birthday cake, tree planting, vendors and community exhibits, great entertainment and spectacular fireworks!

  • 10:30 am – 4:30 pm
  • A country tea, patriotic speeches, Victorian games, cake, lemonade, a buffet lunch and more.
  • Regular Fanshawe Pioneer Village admission $7. Enjoy a red and white special at the Pioneer Village Cafe: BBQ ribs and chicken with potato salad coleslaw and traditional rice pudding – cost $14 adults, $7 children.

  • When: Friday July 1, 2016
  • Where: Grand Bend, ON – Main Beach
  • Time: 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Fireworks to start promptly at 10 pm.
  • What: Grand Bend’s Canada Day Celebrations & Fireworks attracts thousands of people from throughout Southwestern Ontario – enjoy the beach and lake while listening to live music (A tribute band to the music of Led Zeppelin, ZED) and end the day with a professional fireworks display.

With this past weekend’s snow, yes snow, I am more excited than ever for the arrival of summer’s unofficial start. This year, Victoria Day lands on Monday, May 23, 2016. Here is City Mom’s  list of Victoria Day fireworks, celebrations and holiday openings. Have a great summer London!

  • What: Celebrate Her Majesty, Queen Victoria’s birthday with nineteenth century games and historical speeches all in reverence to our longest reigning monarch. Her majesty might even brave the sea journey to visit with her subjects in the Upper Canadian town of Fanshawe.

VICTORIA DAY PICNIC

  • Where: Eldon House

EXPLORE A PARK TODAY

  • What: In support of the Children’s Outdoor Charter Storybook Gardens are encouraging families to discover the wonders of nature. Storybook will be providing exploration kits for families to borrow from Ting’s Things gift shop for free that include; a microscope, binoculars, ruler, mini animal and plant identification guide, secret trail map and a scavenger hunt card.

Halloween Round Up

Here we go guys…it’s Halloween time; ghost, goblins and ghouls. With the big day, just five days away, there’s lots to do in the city to celebrate. And the good news? You don’t have to wait five days to celebrate.

Here is a list of fun Halloween-themed events to do with your kiddies around the city. Enjoy!

STORYSPOOK VILLAGE

  • Date: October 23 – 30, 2015
  • Time: 6:00 – 9:00 PM
  • Location: Storybook Gardens
  • Cost: $15 per child, free for adults
  • About: Get your costumes and flashlights ready and join us for a night of spooky (but not too spooky!) fun at the park! Trick or Treat through the village and visit with 20 costumed storybook characters. Try the Leaping Lily pad under moonlight and enjoy three amusement rides included with admission (some height restrictions apply).

TRUNK OR TREAT

  • LocationLondon Gymnastics Academy (LGA)

They’ll also be collecting non-perishable food items.  Sears Portrait Studios will be there with a satellite studio and will be offering Easter photos starting at $9.99.
