The Children's Place School Uniforms

I know no one likes talking about “back to school” this early in the season but let’s face it, September isn’t that far away. There’s no better time than now  to start getting prepared for the first day of school. From backpacks to new shoes to school outfits, The Children’s Place has us parents  kids covered this season!

I’m smitten with the School Uniform section at The Children’s Place. Check out this cute outfit that I’ve put together for Little S’ first day of school. Even though she is not required to wear a “uniform” I still plan to send her back to school in style!

How cute are these clothes?

Express Yourself: Back to school with Sharpie® Brush Tip Markers {Giveaway}

Sharpie Brush Tip - Magenta

I have mixed feelings that the end of the summer is nearing; that kids are heading back to class and a new school year is beginning but it also means that the cold weather is quickly approaching.

For our family, we welcome the milestone; back to our routines and back to some normalcy. This is the time of year that we also start our back-to-school preparation; new shoes, fall clothes and of course classroom supplies.

One of the items I`ll be sending in Little S’ backpack is the new Sharpie® Brush Tip markers. We got to test some out over the summer and we sure had a lot of fun with them! They’re great for little hands but also provide a creative flare for older kids and adults.

With the new brush tip you’re able to create fine lines, bold strokes and shading all with a marker! They’re perfect for expressing creative flare on traditional surfaces like posters and notebooks and on a wide variety of irregular surfaces – helmets, skateboards, bicycles, signs, and so much more.

Since we spent some time at the beach last month, we got expressive with beach rocks. Check out my creation below and Little S’ ‘scribbling’ fun on a ceramic mug. Note that these markers are not washable and go on wet so be sure to supervise younger children!

The Sharpie Brush Tip markers are available in 12 fun colours and are available at Staples, Walmart, Real Canadian Superstores and DeSerres and are sold individually and in 4 and 8 packs with prices from $1.79 to $13.99.

Back to School In Style – Wee Squeak Style {Giveaway}

Wee Squeak Canada

What’s your favourite back-to-school item to shop for? For me it was always shoes. There’s something about putting on a brand new pair of shoes and heading off for the first day of school that just felt good.

This feeling hasn’t changed and now I can pass the tradition of a new pair of school shoes to little S. Thanks to Wee Squeak that’s exactly what I did.

Little S and I picked out a pair of adorable Wee Squeak shoes for her first day. There are so many to choose from but we finally narrowed it down to a pair of the Hot Pink Peony Maryjanes.

 Wee Squeak Canada

The Wee Squeak shoes are high-quality, comfortable and stylish shoes for kids, but they have something extra. They make a ‘squeak’ sound with each step your child takes. They’re quite cute and entertaining. The kids love them for sure and if you’re a parent wondering if that ‘squeak’ can get a little annoying, rest assured, there’s a solution for that.

Each pair of Wee Squeak shoes comes with a set of plugs that you can swap with the squeaker. This allows you to turn the squeak off. The plugs are really easy to pop out and pop back in and are on the outside of the shoe. The option for squeaks some days and not others is really easy.

I really love the stylish look of the Wee Squeak shoes and I’m in love with the Fall 2011 Collection. My favourites are the Cross Strap Boot for girls and the Two Tones for boys.

The girls boots (and other shoes) come with one set of Chinese Roses to clip on, but you can also buy other flower styles and colours to change-up the look. Now that’s fashion!

Wee Squeak shoes can be purchased online at Wee Squeak Canada or at one of over 700 retailers worldwide. Visit the Store Locator section on the Wee Squeak website to search for a store near you.

Today on City Mom, one lucky reader will win a pair of shoes or boots from Wee Squeak. For this giveaway I will be trying out Rafflecopter for the first time, so things may look a little different.

 Good luck!
