Beat Winter Dry Skin: George’s Dry Skin Cream {#Giveaway}

George's Cream

Even though we haven’t had much snow (in Southwestern Ontario at least) the dry skin season has arrived. One of my biggest pet peeves is the feeling of dry hands and itchy, dry skin. So when I was asked to review George’s Dry Skin Cream, I was eager!

George’s is different from most dry skin creams; it’s a non-prescription therapeutic skin moisturizer that has no additives and is fragrance free. It is also free of Parabens and Urea. Why is this important to you?

Parabens are preservatives used in many skin care products and have been linked to Breast Cancer. Urea is found in many skin creams but can actually irritate the skin and cause skin conditions such as dermatitis.

Guess what, George`s is 100% Canadian and the brand has a very interesting story.

Canadian, George Doherty actually created the mixture known today as George`s Dry Skin Cream in his kitchen using his wife’s cake mixer over 15 years ago. He wanted to provide his fellow Albertan’s with a cure for their dry skin that most suffered from due to the harsh Alberta winters. Little did he know that he was creating what would be one of Canada’s top selling moisturizer.

George's Light LotionI love using George’s Light Special Moisturizing Lotion on my entire body when I get out of the shower. Just as George describes, it’s light, fragrance free yet so effective. I can almost feel my skin drinking it up when I apply it. The best thing is that there is no greasy residue leftover.

I also carry a tube of George’s Special Dry Skin Cream in my purse to take care of my pet peeve and that is the feeling of dry hands. It only takes one application and I don’t have to worry about that feeling until my next hand washing session.

And because of the natural ingredients and lack of preservatives, it doesn’t cause your skin to get drier, resulting in having to use more. As the tagline says, it works!

George’s has long been available in Western Canada but has recently debuted in Ontario. Check out Shopper’s Drug Mart, Loblaw’s and other grocery outlets.
